Adobe ColdFusion is a web and mobile application development platform. It uses its own scripting language, ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML), to create data-driven websites as well as generate remote services, such as REST. When ColdFusion is paired with the CData ODBC Driver for NetSuite, you can link your ColdFusion web and mobile applications to operational NetSuite data. This allows for your applications to be more robust and complete. This article details how to use the ODBC driver to create a table populated with NetSuite data from within a ColdFusion markup file.
CData provides the easiest way to access and integrate live data from Oracle NetSuite. Customers use CData connectivity to:
Customers use CData solutions to access live NetSuite data from their preferred analytics tools, Power BI and Excel. They also use CData's solutions to integrate their NetSuite data into comprehensive databases and data warehouse using CData Sync directly or leveraging CData's compatibility with other applications like Azure Data Factory. CData also helps Oracle NetSuite customers easily write apps that can pull data from and push data to NetSuite, allowing organizations to integrate data from other sources with NetSuite.

To follow along with this tutorial, you need to install the CData ODBC Driver for NetSuite and Adobe ColdFusion.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (Data Source Name). This is the last step of the driver installation process. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
The User and Password properties, under the Authentication section, must be set to valid NetSuite user credentials. In addition, the AccountId must be set to the ID of a company account that can be used by the specified User. The RoleId can be optionally specified to log in the user with limited permissions.
See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for more information on connecting to NetSuite.
After creating a DSN, follow the steps below to add a new data source, test our connection to it, create a ColdFusion markup file, and, finally, import NetSuite Data and display it in a table in ColdFusion:
The following code queries the data source:
<cfquery name="NetSuiteQuery" dataSource="CDataNetSuiteODBC"> SELECT * FROM SalesOrder </cfquery>And a CFTable can be used to quickly output the table in HTML:
<cftable query = "NetSuiteQuery" border = "1" colHeaders colSpacing = "2" headerLines = "2" HTMLTable maxRows = "500" startRow = "1"> <cfcol header="<b>CustomerName</b>" align="Left" width=2 text="CustomerName"/> <cfcol header="<b>SalesOrderTotal</b>" align="Left" width=15 text="SalesOrderTotal"/> ... </cftable>Full code, including the HTML portion is available below:
<html>
<head><title>CData Software | NetSuite SalesOrder Table Demo </title></head>
<body>
<cfoutput>#ucase("NetSuite SalesOrder Table Demo")#</cfoutput>
<cfquery name="NetSuiteQuery" dataSource="CDataNetSuiteODBC">
SELECT * FROM SalesOrder
</cfquery>
<cftable
query = "NetSuiteQuery"
border = "1"
colHeaders
colSpacing = "2"
headerLines = "2"
HTMLTable
maxRows = "500"
startRow = "1">
<cfcol header="<b>CustomerName</b>" align="Left" width=2 text="CustomerName"/>
<cfcol header="<b>SalesOrderTotal</b>" align="Left" width=15 text="SalesOrderTotal"/>
...
</cftable>
</body>
</html>
As a note, the CData ODBC Drivers also support parameterized queries using the cfqueryparam element. For example:
SELECT * FROM Account WHERE name =
