Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live Pinecone data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for Pinecone, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to Pinecone in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
To authenticate to Pinecone, and connect to your own data or to allow other users to connect to their data, you can use API Key authentication.
To authenticate using an API Key, you need to obtain your API Key from your Pinecone console at https://app.pinecone.io/.
You can then connect by setting the AuthScheme to APIKey and providing your API key:
Standard API Key Configuration:
Profile=C:\profiles\Pinecone.apip;AuthScheme=APIKey;ProfileSettings='APIKey=your_api_key;APIVersion=2025-10';π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown).
After connecting to Pinecone, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for Pinecone data.
Create a User to connect to Pinecone from Reveal through API Server.
When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
π Configuring CORS settingsWith the API Server configured, we can visualize Pinecone data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live Pinecone data. For more information on creating OData feeds from Pinecone (and more than 150 other sources), visit the API Server page. Download a free, 30-day trial and start working live Pinecone data in tools that consume OData APIs.
