The CData ODBC Driver for Pinterest enables access to live data from Pinterest under the ODBC standard, allowing you work with Pinterest data in a wide variety of BI, reporting, and ETL tools and directly, using familiar SQL queries. This article shows how to connect to Pinterest data as a generic ODBC Data Provider and create charts, reports, and dashboards based on Pinterest data in Dundas BI.
Pinterest authentication is based on the standard OAuth flow. To authenticate, you must initially create an app via the Pinterest developer platform where you can obtain an OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL.
Set InitiateOAuth to GETANDREFRESH and set OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL based on the property values for the app you created.
See the Help documentation for other OAuth authentication flows.
When you configure the DSN, you may also want to set the Max Rows connection property. This will limit the number of rows returned, which is especially helpful for improving performance when designing reports and visualizations.
You are now ready to create a dashboard with Pinterest data.
