The CData JDBC Driver for Reckon Accounts Hosted fully implements the JDBC standard and can provide Reckon Accounts Hosted data connectivity to a wide variety of BI, reporting, and ETL tools and custom applications. In this article, we explain how to set Reckon Accounts Hosted data as JDBC data source in FineReport and view Reckon Accounts Hosted data as a table in the Report Designer.
Follow the instruction below to set Reckon Accounts Hosted data as a FineReport database connection.
Next we will set up the data connection definition in the window.
The connector makes requests to Reckon Accounts Hosted through OAuth. Specify the following connection properties:
CData provides an embedded OAuth application that simplifies OAuth desktop authentication. See the Help documentation for information on other OAuth authentication methods (web, headless, etc.), creating custom OAuth applications, and reasons for doing so.
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Reckon Accounts Hosted JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.reckonaccountshosted.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
π Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Salesforce is shown.)When you configure the JDBC URL, you may also want to set the Max Rows connection property. This will limit the number of rows returned, which is especially helpful for improving performance when designing reports and visualizations.
A typical JDBC URL is below:
jdbc:reckonaccountshosted:SubscriptionKey=my_subscription_key;CountryVersion=2021.R2.AU;CompanyFile=Q:/CompanyName.QBW;User=my_user;Password=my_password;CallbackURL=http://localhost:33333;OAuthClientId=my_oauth_client_id;OAuthClientSecret=my_oauth_client_secret;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
Click Test connection to ensure you have configured the connection properly. With the connection to Reckon Accounts Hosted set up, you can use it as FineReport data source.
With these simple steps, Reckon Accounts Hosted can be used as a JDBC data source in FineReport.
