Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way businesses use data to solve problems. When paired with the CData Tableau Connector for RSS, you can easily get access to live RSS feeds within Tableau. This article shows how to connect to RSS in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live RSS feeds in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with RSS and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing RSS feeds using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to RSS feeds.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "RSS by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
You can connect to RSS and Atom feeds, as well as feeds with custom extensions. To connect to a feed, set the URL property. You can also access secure feeds. A variety of authentication mechanisms are supported. See the help documentation for details.
