CData Connect AI, enables you to access Salesforce Marketing data from cloud-based applications like the Salesforce console and mobile applications like the Salesforce Mobile App. In this article, you will use CData Connect AI and Salesforce Connect to access external Salesforce Marketing objects alongside standard Salesforce objects.
To work with live Salesforce Marketing data in Salesforce Connect, we need to connect to Salesforce Marketing from Connect AI, provide user access to the connection, and create a Workspace for the Salesforce Marketing data.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
Authenticating to the Salesforce Marketing Cloud APIs
Set the and to your login credentials, or to the credentials for a sandbox user if you are connecting to a sandbox account.
Connecting to the Salesforce Marketing Cloud APIs
By default, the data provider connects to production environments. Set to true to use a Salesforce Marketing Cloud sandbox account.
The default Instance is s7 of the Web Services API; however, if you use a different instance, you can set .
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
After connecting to Salesforce Marketing, create a workspace for your desired table(s).
With the connection, PAT, and Workspace configured, you are ready to connect to Salesforce Marketing data from Salesforce Connect.
Follow the steps below to connect to the feed produced by Connect AI.
After you have created the external data source, follow the steps below to create Salesforce Marketing external objects that reflect any changes in the data source. You will synchronize the definitions for the Salesforce Marketing external objects with the definitions for Salesforce Marketing tables.
After adding Salesforce Marketing data as an external data source and syncing Salesforce Marketing tables as external objects, you can use the external Salesforce Marketing objects just as you would standard Salesforce objects.
