Drop the CData ODBC Driver for SAP Ariba Source into your LAMP or WAMP stack to build SAP Ariba Source-connected Web applications. This article shows how to use PHP's ODBC built-in functions to connect to SAP Ariba Source data, execute queries, and output the results.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
In order to connect with SAP Ariba Source, set the following:
If you are connecting to the Supplier Data API or the Contract API, additionally set the following:
If you're connecting to the Supplier API, set ProjectId to the Id of the sourcing project you want to retrieve data from.
After setting connection properties, you need to configure OAuth connectivity to authenticate.
For more information on creating an OAuth application, refer to the Help documentation.
After setting the following, you are ready to connect:
When you connect, the provider automatically completes the OAuth process:
Open the connection to SAP Ariba Source by calling the or methods. To close connections, use or .
$conn = odbc_connect("CData ODBC SAPAribaSource Source","user","password");
Connections opened with are closed when the script ends. Connections opened with the method are still open after the script ends. This enables other scripts to share that connection when they connect with the same credentials. By sharing connections among your scripts, you can save system resources, and queries execute faster.
$conn = odbc_pconnect("CData ODBC SAPAribaSource Source","user","password");
...
odbc_close($conn); //persistent connection must be closed explicitly
Create prepared statements and parameterized queries with the function.
$query = odbc_prepare($conn, "SELECT * FROM Vendors WHERE Region = ?");
Execute prepared statements with .
$conn = odbc_connect("CData ODBC SAPAribaSource Source","user","password");
$query = odbc_prepare($conn, "SELECT * FROM Vendors WHERE Region = ?");
$success = odbc_execute($query, array('USA'));
Execute nonparameterized queries with .
$conn = odbc_connect("CData ODBC SAPAribaSource Source","user","password");
$query = odbc_exec($conn, "SELECT SMVendorID, Category FROM Vendors WHERE Region = 'USA'");
Access a row in the result set as an array with the function.
$conn = odbc_connect("CData ODBC SAP Ariba Source data Source","user","password");
$query = odbc_exec($conn, "SELECT SMVendorID, Category FROM Vendors WHERE Region = 'USA'");
while($row = odbc_fetch_array($query)){
echo $row["SMVendorID"] . "\n";
}
Display the result set in an HTML table with the function.
$conn = odbc_connect("CData ODBC SAP Ariba Source data Source","user","password");
$query = odbc_prepare($conn, "SELECT * FROM Vendors WHERE Region = ?");
$success = odbc_execute($query, array('USA'));
if($success)
odbc_result_all($query);
You will find complete information on the driver's supported SQL in the help documentation. The code examples above are SAP Ariba Source-specific adaptations of the PHP community documentation for all ODBC functions.

👁 SAP Ariba Source IconThe SAP Ariba Source ODBC Driver is a powerful tool that allows you to connect with live data from SAP Ariba Source, directly from any applications that support ODBC connectivity.
Access SAP Ariba Source data like you would a database - read, write, and update SAP Ariba Source 0, etc. through a standard ODBC Driver interface.
