Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way businesses use data to solve problems. This article shows how to connect to SAP Ariba Source in Tableau Prep and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live SAP Ariba Source data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with SAP Ariba Source and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors support Tableau Prep Builder 2020.4.1 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau Prep Builder, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver. If you wish to connect to SAP Ariba Source data in Tableau Cloud, you will need to use CData Connect AI.
When you install the CData Tableau Connector for SAP Ariba Source, the installer should copy the TACO and JAR files to the appropriate directories. If your data source does not appear in the connection steps below, you will need to copy two files:
Open Tableau Prep Builder and click "Connect to Data" and search for "SAP Ariba Source by CData." Configure the connection and click "Sign In."

If you are connecting to the Supplier Data API or the Contract API, additionally set the following:
If you're connecting to the Supplier API, set ProjectId to the Id of the sourcing project you want to retrieve data from.
After setting connection properties, you need to configure OAuth connectivity to authenticate.

Drag the tables and views you wish to work with onto the canvas. You can include multiple tables.

After you perform any cleansing, filtering, transformations, and joins, you can export the data for visualization in Tableau.
