Nintex Workflow Cloud is a cloud-based platform where you can design workflows to automate simple or complex processes using drag-and-drop interactions β without writing any code. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to SendGrid data for business applications. This article shows how to create a virtual database for SendGrid in Connect AI and build a simple workflow from SendGrid data in Nintex.
CData Connect AI provides a pure, cloud-to-cloud interface for SendGrid, allowing you to build workflows from live SendGrid data in Nintex Workflow Cloud β without replicating the data to a natively supported database. Nintex allows you to access data directly using SQL queries. Using optimized data processing out of the box, CData Connect AI pushes all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc.) directly to SendGrid, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return the requested SendGrid data.
Connectivity to SendGrid from Nintex is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with SendGrid data from Nintex, we start by creating and configuring a SendGrid connection.
To make use of all the available features, provide the User and Password connection properties.
To connect with limited features, you can set the APIKey connection property instead. See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for a guide to obtaining the API key.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to SendGrid data from Nintex Workflow Cloud.
The steps below outline creating a new connection to SendGrid data from Nintex (via Connect AI).
With the connection to CData Connect AI configured, we are ready to build a simple workflow to access SendGrid data. Start by clicking the "Create workflow" button.
Once you configure the actions, click "Save," name the Workflow, and click "Save" again. You now have a simple workflow that will query SendGrid using SQL and sand an email with the results.
