Informatica Cloud allows you to perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) tasks in the cloud. With the Cloud Secure Agent and the CData JDBC Driver for ServiceNow, you get live access to ServiceNow data, directly within Informatica Cloud. In this article, we will walk through downloading and registering the Cloud Secure Agent, connecting to ServiceNow through the JDBC Driver and generating a mapping that can be used in any Informatica Cloud process.
CData simplifies access and integration of live ServiceNow data. Our customers leverage CData connectivity to:
Many users access live ServiceNow data from preferred analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel, and use CData solutions to integrate ServiceNow data with their database or data warehouse.
To work with the ServiceNow data through the JDBC Driver, install the Cloud Secure Agent.
NOTE: It may take some time for all of the Cloud Secure Agent services to get up and running.
With the Cloud Secure Agent installed and running, you are ready to connect to ServiceNow through the JDBC Driver.

For mappings, create the following folder and add the driver JAR file:
informatica.jdbc_v2/common
For mappings in advanced mode, also create the following folder and add the driver JAR file:
informatica.jdbc_v2/spark
jdbc:servicenow:OAuthClientId=MyOAuthClientId;OAuthClientSecret=MyOAuthClientSecret;Username=MyUsername;Password=MyPassword;URL=https://myinstance12345.service-now-com;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
ServiceNow uses the OAuth 2.0 authentication standard. To authenticate using OAuth, register an OAuth app with ServiceNow to obtain the OAuthClientId and OAuthClientSecret connection properties. In addition to the OAuth values, specify the Instance, Username, and Password connection properties.
See the "Getting Started" chapter in the help documentation for a guide on connecting to ServiceNow.
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the ServiceNow JDBC Driver. Either double-click the .jar file or execute the .jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.servicenow.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
π Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Google Sheets is shown.)With the connection to ServiceNow configured, we can now access ServiceNow data in any Informatica process. The steps below walk through creating a mapping for ServiceNow to another data target.
With the mapping configured, you are ready to start integrating live ServiceNow data with any of the supported connections in Informatica Cloud. Download a free, 30-day trial of the CData JDBC Driver for ServiceNow and start working with your live ServiceNow data in Informatica Cloud today.
