The CData JDBC driver for SingleStore is easy to integrate with Java Web applications. This article shows how to efficiently connect to SingleStore data in Jetty by configuring the driver for connection pooling. You will configure a JNDI resource for SingleStore in Jetty.
Follow the steps below to connect to Salesforce from Jetty.
Enable the JNDI module for your Jetty base. The following command enables JNDI from the command-line:
java -jar ../start.jar --add-to-startd=jndi
Declare the resource and its scope. Enter the required connection properties in the resource declaration. This example declares the SingleStore data source at the level of the Web app, in WEB-INF\jetty-env.xml.
<Configure id='singlestoredemo' class="org.eclipse.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <New id="singlestoredemo" class="org.eclipse.jetty.plus.jndi.Resource"> <Arg><Ref refid="singlestoredemo"/></Arg> <Arg>jdbc/singlestoredb</Arg> <Arg> <New class="cdata.jdbc.singlestore.SingleStoreDriver"> <Set name="url">jdbc:singlestore:</Set> <Set name="User">myUser</Set> <Set name="Password">myPassword</Set> <Set name="Database">NorthWind</Set> <Set name="Server">myServer</Set> <Set name="Port">3306</Set> </New> </Arg> </New> </Configure>
The following connection properties are required in order to connect to data.
To authenticate using standard authentication, set the following:
As an alternative to providing the standard username and password, you can set IntegratedSecurity to True to authenticate trusted users to the server via Windows Authentication.
You can leverage SSL authentication to connect to SingleStore data via a secure session. Configure the following connection properties to connect to data:
Using SSH, you can securely login to a remote machine. To access SingleStore data via SSH, configure the following connection properties:
Configure the resource in the Web.xml:
jdbc/singlestoredb javax.sql.DataSource Container
You can then access SingleStore with a lookup to java:comp/env/jdbc/singlestoredb:
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource mysinglestore = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/singlestoredb");
The steps above show how to configure the driver in a simple connection pooling scenario. For more use cases and information, see the Working with Jetty JNDI chapter in the Jetty documentation.
