CData provides the easiest way to access and integrate live data from Smartsheet. Customers use CData connectivity to:
Users frequently integrate Smartsheet with analytics tools such as Tableau, Crystal Reports, and Excel. Others leverage our tools to replicate Smartsheet data to databases or data warehouses.
Here is an overview of the steps:
To start, configure the DSN (Data Source Name) for Smartsheet data in your system using the CData ODBC Driver for Smartsheet. Download and install a 30-day free trial with all the features from here.
Once installed, launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator:
Once launched, double-click on the CData Smartsheet data Source and enter the required values to establish a connection:
Smartsheet uses the OAuth authentication standard. To authenticate using OAuth, register an app to obtain the OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL connection properties.
However, for testing purposes you can instead use the Personal Access Token you get when you create an application; set this to the OAuthAccessToken connection property.
π Configuring a DSN (Salesforce is shown)Once you've set up the DSN, it's time to connect to it in OpenOffice Base and start querying data:
Your connection is now established β ready to query and analyze data seamlessly within OpenOffice Base.
After the database file is created and the connection is established, the table list will automatically display all available Smartsheet data objects.
That's it! You have now successfully established a connection to Smartsheet data in OpenOffice Base, with data readily available for analysis and reporting.
Now, let's generate a report based on your Smartsheet data data.
Your report is now created, drawing live data directly from Smartsheet data, and ready for analysis.
