Embarcadero RAD Studio provides a development environment for Delphi and C++Builder applications. With the CData ODBC Driver for Suadeo, you gain access to live Suadeo data within RAD Studio, abstracting the data into tables, views, and stored procedures that can be used to both retrieve Suadeo data. This article will walk through connecting to Suadeo using the Data Explorer.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
The driver uses the OAuth 2.0 Resource Owner Password Credentials (ROPC) grant to authenticate to Suadeo. Authentication occurs directly using your credentials; there is no browser-based authorization flow or refresh token.
Set the following connection properties:
When you connect, the driver sends your credentials to the Suadeo OAuth token endpoint, receives an access token, and uses it for all subsequent requests. A new access token is obtained automatically when needed during the session.
You can create a simple application for displaying Suadeo data by utilizing the CData FireDAC Components for Suadeo and a new VCL Forms Application:
Create a new VCL Forms application and drag a view (for example: Customers) onto the form.
๐ Placing the View on the Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Right-click on the object, bind visually, and link everything (*) to a new control (TStringGrid).
๐ Visually Binding the View. (Salesforce is shown.)Arrange the TStringGrid on the form and run the application to see the Customers data.
๐ The View data on a Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Below you can find other articles for using the CData ODBC Driver with RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++ Builder.

๐ Suadeo IconThe Suadeo ODBC Driver is a powerful tool that allows you to connect with live data from Suadeo, directly from any applications that support ODBC connectivity.
Access Suadeo data like you would a database - read, write, and update Suadeo 0, etc. through a standard ODBC Driver interface.
