Informatica Cloud allows you to perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) tasks in the cloud. With the Cloud Secure Agent and the CData JDBC Driver for Sugar, you get live access to Sugar CRM data, directly within Informatica Cloud. In this article, we will walk through downloading and registering the Cloud Secure Agent, connecting to Sugar CRM through the JDBC Driver and generating a mapping that can be used in any Informatica Cloud process.
To work with the Sugar CRM data through the JDBC Driver, install the Cloud Secure Agent.
NOTE: It may take some time for all of the Cloud Secure Agent services to get up and running.
With the Cloud Secure Agent installed and running, you are ready to connect to Sugar CRM through the JDBC Driver.
%Secure Agent installation directory%/ext/connectors/thirdparty/
For mappings, create the following folder and add the driver JAR file:
informatica.jdbc_v2/common
For mappings in advanced mode, also create the following folder and add the driver JAR file:
informatica.jdbc_v2/spark
jdbc:sugarcrm:User=MyUser;Password=MyPassword;URL=MySugarCRMAccountURL;CacheMetadata=True;
The User and Password properties, under the Authentication section, must be set to valid SugarCRM user credentials. This will use the default OAuth token created to allow client logins. OAuthClientId and OAuthClientSecret are required if you do not wish to use the default OAuth token.
You can generate a new OAuth consumer key and consumer secret in Admin -> OAuth Keys. Set the OAuthClientId to the OAuth consumer key. Set the OAuthClientSecret to the consumer secret.
Additionally, specify the URL to the SugarCRM account.
Note that retrieving SugarCRM metadata can be expensive. It is advised that you store the metadata locally as described in the "Caching Metadata" chapter of the help documentation.
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Sugar CRM JDBC Driver. Either double-click the .jar file or execute the .jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.sugarcrm.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
π Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Google Sheets is shown.)With the connection to Sugar CRM configured, we can now access Sugar CRM data in any Informatica process. The steps below walk through creating a mapping for Sugar CRM to another data target.
With the mapping configured, you are ready to start integrating live Sugar CRM data with any of the supported connections in Informatica Cloud. Download a free, 30-day trial of the CData JDBC Driver for Sugar and start working with your live Sugar CRM data in Informatica Cloud today.
