CData Connect AI, enables you to access Tableau CRM Analytics data from cloud-based applications like the Salesforce console and mobile applications like the Salesforce Mobile App. In this article, you will use CData Connect AI and Salesforce Connect to access external Tableau CRM Analytics objects alongside standard Salesforce objects.
To work with live Tableau CRM Analytics data in Salesforce Connect, we need to connect to Tableau CRM Analytics from Connect AI, provide user access to the connection, and create a Workspace for the Tableau CRM Analytics data.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
Tableau CRM Analytics uses the OAuth 2 authentication standard. Obtain the OAuthClientId and OAuthClientSecret by registering an app with Tableau CRM Analytics.
See the Getting Started section of the Help documentation for an authentication guide.
If the connected Salesforce org has MFA enforcement enabled, set MFACode to the time-based one-time passcode (TOTP) generated by your authenticator app (such as Salesforce Authenticator or Google Authenticator). MFACode applies alongside the standard OAuth flow.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
After connecting to Tableau CRM Analytics, create a workspace for your desired table(s).
With the connection, PAT, and Workspace configured, you are ready to connect to Tableau CRM Analytics data from Salesforce Connect.
Follow the steps below to connect to the feed produced by Connect AI.
After you have created the external data source, follow the steps below to create Tableau CRM Analytics external objects that reflect any changes in the data source. You will synchronize the definitions for the Tableau CRM Analytics external objects with the definitions for Tableau CRM Analytics tables.
After adding Tableau CRM Analytics data as an external data source and syncing Tableau CRM Analytics tables as external objects, you can use the external Tableau CRM Analytics objects just as you would standard Salesforce objects.
