The CData Excel Add-In for Tableau CRM Analytics provides formulas that can edit, save, and delete Tableau CRM Analytics data. The following three steps show how you can automate the following task: Search Tableau CRM Analytics data for a user-specified value and then organize the results into an Excel spreadsheet.
The syntax of the CDATAQUERY formula is the following:
=CDATAQUERY(Query, [Connection], [Parameters], [ResultLocation]);
This formula requires three inputs:
Connection: Either the connection name, such as TableauCRMConnection1, or a connection string. The connection string consists of the required properties for connecting to Tableau CRM Analytics data, separated by semicolons.
Tableau CRM Analytics uses the OAuth 2 authentication standard. Obtain the OAuthClientId and OAuthClientSecret by registering an app with Tableau CRM Analytics.
See the Getting Started section of the Help documentation for an authentication guide.
If the connected Salesforce org has MFA enforcement enabled, set MFACode to the time-based one-time passcode (TOTP) generated by your authenticator app (such as Salesforce Authenticator or Google Authenticator). MFACode applies alongside the standard OAuth flow.
The procedure below results in a spreadsheet that organizes all the formula inputs in the first column.
=CDATAQUERY("SELECT * FROM Dataset_Opportunity WHERE StageName = '"&B6&"'","OAuthClientId="&B1&";OAuthClientSecret="&B2&";CallbackURL="&B3&";InitiateOAuth="&B4&";MFACode="&B5&";Provider=TableauCRM",B7)
