The CData Excel Add-In for Vimeo provides formulas that can query Vimeo data. The following three steps show how you can automate the following task: Search Vimeo data for a user-specified value and then organize the results into an Excel spreadsheet.
The syntax of the CDATAQUERY formula is the following:
=CDATAQUERY(Query, [Connection], [Parameters], [ResultLocation]);
This formula requires three inputs:
Connection: Either the connection name, such as APIConnection1, or a connection string. The connection string consists of the required properties for connecting to Vimeo data, separated by semicolons.
Vimeo is a professional video hosting platform. The Vimeo API uses personal access tokens (bearer tokens) to enable secure access to video metadata, user information, channels, groups, categories, and related resources.
To authenticate to the Vimeo API, you will need to provide a personal access token. To obtain your access token:
After obtaining your access token, set the following connection properties:
Profile=C:\profiles\Vimeo.apip;ProfileSettings='APIKey=your_personal_access_token';
The procedure below results in a spreadsheet that organizes all the formula inputs in the first column.
=CDATAQUERY("SELECT * FROM Videos WHERE UserUri = '"&B4&"'","Profile="&B1&";ProfileSettings="&B2&";Provider=API",B5)
