The CData JDBC driver for WooCommerce is easy to integrate with Java Web applications. This article shows how to efficiently connect to WooCommerce data in Jetty by configuring the driver for connection pooling. You will configure a JNDI resource for WooCommerce in Jetty.
Follow the steps below to connect to Salesforce from Jetty.
Enable the JNDI module for your Jetty base. The following command enables JNDI from the command-line:
java -jar ../start.jar --add-to-startd=jndi
Declare the resource and its scope. Enter the required connection properties in the resource declaration. This example declares the WooCommerce data source at the level of the Web app, in WEB-INF\jetty-env.xml.
<Configure id='woocommercedemo' class="org.eclipse.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <New id="woocommercedemo" class="org.eclipse.jetty.plus.jndi.Resource"> <Arg><Ref refid="woocommercedemo"/></Arg> <Arg>jdbc/woocommercedb</Arg> <Arg> <New class="cdata.jdbc.woocommerce.WooCommerceDriver"> <Set name="url">jdbc:woocommerce:</Set> <Set name="Url">https://example.com/</Set> <Set name="ConsumerKey">ck_ec52c76185c088ecaa3145287c8acba55a6f59ad</Set> <Set name="ConsumerSecret">cs_9fde14bf57126156701a7563fc87575713c355e5</Set> <Set name="InitiateOAuth">GETANDREFRESH</Set> </New> </Arg> </New> </Configure>
WooCommerce supports the following authentication methods: one-legged OAuth1.0 Authentication and standard OAuth2.0 Authentication.
Specify the following properties (NOTE: the below credentials are generated from WooCommerce settings page and should not be confused with the credentials generated by using WordPress OAuth2.0 plugin):
After having configured the
In either case, set the Url property to the URL of the WooCommerce instance.
Configure the resource in the Web.xml:
jdbc/woocommercedb javax.sql.DataSource Container
You can then access WooCommerce with a lookup to java:comp/env/jdbc/woocommercedb:
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource mywoocommerce = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/woocommercedb");
The steps above show how to configure the driver in a simple connection pooling scenario. For more use cases and information, see the Working with Jetty JNDI chapter in the Jetty documentation.
