The CData Excel Add-In for WordPress provides formulas that can edit, save, and delete WordPress data. The following three steps show how you can automate the following task: Search WordPress data for a user-specified value and then organize the results into an Excel spreadsheet.
The syntax of the CDATAQUERY formula is the following:
=CDATAQUERY(Query, [Connection], [Parameters], [ResultLocation]);
This formula requires three inputs:
Connection: Either the connection name, such as WordPressConnection1, or a connection string. The connection string consists of the required properties for connecting to WordPress data, separated by semicolons.
To connect to WordPress, set the URL property and other authentication properties. WordPress supports Basic (User and Password) and OAuth2.0 authentication, though Basic is recommended for a testing environment only. To connect with OAuth register an app with WordPress.
See the Getting Started guide in the CData driver documentation for more information.
The procedure below results in a spreadsheet that organizes all the formula inputs in the first column.
=CDATAQUERY("SELECT * FROM Categories WHERE Id = '"&B3&"'","Url="&B1&";InitiateOAuth="&B2&";Provider=WordPress",B4)
