Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way businesses use data to solve problems. When paired with the CData Tableau Connector for xBase, you can easily get access to live xBase data within Tableau. This article shows how to connect to xBase in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live xBase data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with xBase and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing xBase data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to xBase data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "xBase by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
The DataSource property must be set to the name of the folder that contains the .dbf files. Specify the IncludeFiles property to work with xBase table files having extensions that differ from .dbf. Specify multiple extensions in a comma-separated list.
