APOS Live Data Gateway (LDG) is a data connection and data transformation solution that enables live data connectivity and expanded data source options for SAP Analytics Cloud and other SAP solutions. When paired with CData Connectors, users can build semantic layer views for live YouTube Analytics data, enabling real-time analytics on YouTube Analytics just like working with a relational database.
With built-in optimized data processing, the CData Connector offers unmatched performance for interacting with live YouTube Analytics data. When you issue complex SQL queries to YouTube Analytics, the driver pushes supported SQL operations, like filters and aggregations, directly to YouTube Analytics and utilizes the embedded SQL engine to process unsupported operations client-side (often SQL functions and JOIN operations). Its built-in dynamic metadata querying allows you to work with and analyze YouTube Analytics data using native data types.
In order to access YouTube Analytics data through the APOS Live Data Gateway, you will need to download the connector files from APOS and install them on the machine hosting the Live Data Gateway. An APOS representative can deliver the necessary files.
Before establishing the connection to YouTube Analytics from the APOS Live Data Gateway, you need to configure the YouTube Analytics JDBC Connection String.
For assistance in constructing the JDBC Connection String, use the connection string designer built into the YouTube Analytics JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.youtubeanalytics.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
YouTube Analytics uses the OAuth authentication standard. You can use the embedded CData OAuth credentials or you can register an application with Google to obtain your own.
In addition to the OAuth values, to access YouTube Analytics data set ChannelId to the Id of a YouTube channel. You can obtain the channel Id in the advanced account settings for your channel. If not specified, the channel of the currently authenticated user will be used.
If you want to generate content owner reports, specify the ContentOwnerId property. This is the Id of the copyright holder for content in YouTube's rights management system. The content owner is the person or organization that claims videos and sets their monetization policy.
π Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (youtube analytics is shown.)Your connection string will look similar to the following:
jdbc:YouTubeAnalytics:ContentOwnerId=MyContentOwnerId;ChannelId=MyChannelId;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
After installing the connector files and configuring the connection string, you are ready to connect to YouTube Analytics in the Live Data Gateway Admin tool and build a semantic layer view in the Live Data Gateway Web UI.
jdbc:YouTubeAnalytics:ContentOwnerId=MyContentOwnerId;ChannelId=MyChannelId;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
At this point, we are ready to build our semantic layer view in the Live Data Gateway Web UI.
With the Semantic Layer View created, you are ready to access your YouTube Analytics data through the APOS Live Data Gateway, enabling real-time data connectivity to YouTube Analytics data from SAP Analytics Cloud and other SAP solutions.
