Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live Zoom data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for Zoom, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to Zoom in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
Start by setting the Profile connection property to the location of the Zoom Profile on disk (e.g. C:\profiles\Zoom.apip). Next, set the ProfileSettings connection property to the connection string for Zoom (see below).
To authenticate to Zoom, you can use the OAuth standard to connect to your own data or to allow other users to connect to their data.
First create an OAuth app. To do so, navigate to https://marketplace.zoom.us/develop/create and click Create under the OAuth section. Select whether or not the app will be for individual users or for the entire account, and uncheck the box to publish the app. Give the app a name and click Create. You will then be given your Client Secret and Client ID
After setting the following connection properties, you are ready to connect:
After connecting to Zoom, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for Zoom data.
Create a User to connect to Zoom from Reveal through API Server.
When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
π Configuring CORS settingsWith the API Server configured, we can visualize Zoom data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live Zoom data. For more information on creating OData feeds from Zoom (and more than 150 other sources), visit the API Server page. Download a free, 30-day trial and start working live Zoom data in tools that consume OData APIs.
