Embarcadero RAD Studio provides a development environment for Delphi and C++Builder applications. With the CData ODBC Driver for Zuora, you gain access to live Zuora data within RAD Studio, abstracting the data into tables, views, and stored procedures that can be used to retrieve Zuora data. This article will walk through connecting to Zuora and creating a simple VCL application with the Form Designer.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
Zuora uses the OAuth standard to authenticate users. See the online Help documentation for a full OAuth authentication guide.
In order to create a valid connection with the provider you need to choose one of the Tenant values (USProduction by default) which matches your account configuration. The following is a list with the available options:
Two Zuora services are available: Data Query and AQuA API. By default ZuoraService is set to AQuADataExport.
The Data Query feature enables you to export data from your Zuora tenant by performing asynchronous, read-only SQL queries. We recommend to use this service for quick lightweight SQL queries.
LimitationsAQuA API export is designed to export all the records for all the objects ( tables ). AQuA query jobs have the following limitations:
LimitationsYou can then follow the steps below to use the Data Explorer to create a FireDAC connection to Zuora data.
Follow the procedure below to start executing queries to Zuora data from a simple VCL application that displays the results of a query in a grid.
Drop a TFDConnection component onto the form and set the following properties:
Drop a TFDQuery component onto the form and set the properties below:
SQL: Click the button in the SQL property and enter a query. For example:
SELECT Id, BillingCity FROM Invoices WHERE BillingState = 'CA'
Drop a TDataSource component onto the form and set the following property:
Drop a TDBGrid control onto the form and set the following property:
You now have an executable application that displays the results of the SQL Query set in the TFDQuery object.

👁 Zuora IconThe Zuora ODBC Driver is a powerful tool that allows you to connect with live data from Zuora, directly from any applications that support ODBC connectivity.
Access Zuora data like you would a database - read, write, and update Zuora. through a standard ODBC Driver interface.
