π βHaving nice design is great, but how can you support the ways you want to live?β says Adair. She and Kopp did the same discovery process as their clients to help push them into purpose. βIt was so helpful in figuring out how to shape the moments we wanted.β
π Getting the hammock installed posed a bit of a challenge. Adair and Kopp found it tough to find a company to help with executing their idea. βItβs interesting to know that if you want to do something with a little bit of risk, it really takes some convincing,β says Adair. With the help of a U.S.-based company that dealt with large-scale net facilities, they got a group together and lashed the whole perimeter to create a safe, sturdy, supportive weaving.

π Eivind wanted to find a contemporary, minimalist take on the hytte that would still evoke the requisite sense of koselig (warmth, contentment, coziness) he recalls from his childhood. Vaulted ceilings in a warm, pale pine paneling are juxtaposed with glossy black accents. Light pours through the panoramic windows that blur the line between indoor and outdoor.

π Houldin, 10, curls up in the playroom nook which is directly under a side skylight that Pulltab added in order to make the interior rooms inhabitable, as per New York City building code. The custom millwork around the window seat is painted in Rainy Day by Fine Paints of Europe.
π In a spare bedroom/playroom located in another section of the house, Berg played with juxtapositions of shapes, installing an oak-wrapped, triangular reading nook inset with a circular window.
π Only a set of sliding doors separates the kidsβ room from the master bedroom in a Toronto, Ontario, home. When the time is right, there's a track inlaid in the ceiling for a four-panel bifold wall to divide the space into two private rooms for the children.
