Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma is a prominent political leader affiliated with the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Delhi’s West Delhi constituency. He was born on November 7, 1977, in Delhi and is the son of the former Chief Minister of Delhi, late Sahib Singh Verma and Sahib Kaur. He completed his education in Delhi, holding a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA).
His political career began in the early 2000s when he started working closely with the BJP's youth wing and other party organisations in Delhi. His active involvement in party activities and his strong connection to the grassroots helped him gain prominence within the party.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the West Delhi constituency and won with a significant margin, marking his entry into national politics. He was re-elected from the same constituency in the 2019 elections with the biggest ever margin in Delhi Lok Sabha history, solidifying his position as a key BJP leader in Delhi.
During his tenure as an MP, Parvesh Verma has been known for his vocal stance on various issues, including national security, urban development, and environmental conservation. He has been a member of several parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on Urban Development and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The petition, filed by Vishvanath Agarwal, a candidate nominated by the NCP from the seat, has sought that the election in the seat be declared null and void.
