Found Sept 1996. This is a specimen of gonnardite on natrolite. The gonnardite fluoresces bluish-white, the natrolite, which forms the cores of the crystals, and is visible on the ends of broken ones, does not fluoresce. In addition, there is a white mineral that fluoresces very bright blue. I don’t know what it is and there is probably not ...

The main xl is 2.3 cm tall and has a cross section of 1.2 x 1.0 cm. Found August 28th 1999. This is from a miarolitic cavity and the whole back side is a "contact". The white material is just a shell (about 1-2 mm) surrounding typical glassy natrolite. However I don't think this outer shell is gonnardite (as is common at MSH) because it ...

The main xl is 2.3 cm tall and has a cross section of 1.2 x 1.0 cm. Found August 28th 1999. This is from a miarolitic cavity and the whole back side is a "contact". The white material is just a shell (about 1-2 mm) surrounding typical glassy natrolite. However I don't think this outer shell is gonnardite (as is common at MSH) because it ...

This specimen was sold to me as paranatrolite, but in Earth surface environments paranatrolite becomes dehydrated to gonnardite. There are also reports of paranatrolite dehydrating to tetranatrolite, but the latter has been found to be the same as gonnardite, so ...

The soft-looking balls are made up of tufts of gonnardite (which is actually an intergrowth of gonnardite and natrolite] on a centre which is probably thomsonite. Clear twinned chabazites are also present. Field of view: 3.7mm.
