The Voice UK is a television singing competition that premiered on BBC One in 2012. The show features aspiring singers who compete for the title of The Voice and a recording contract with a major record label. One distinctive aspect of the show is the blind auditions, where the coaches (celebrity judges) initially listen to the contestants without seeing them, with their chairs turned away.
If a coach is impressed by a contestant's voice, they can press a button to turn their chair and express their interest in mentoring that singer. Notable past judges include Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Wilson, Rita Ora, Paloma Faith, Boy George, Jennifer Hudson, Gavin Rossdale, and Meghan Trainor.
