WASPI stands for Women Against State Pension Inequality. It refers to a campaign group in the United Kingdom advocating for women born in the 1950s who were adversely affected by changes to the state pension age.

In the UK, the state pension age for women was traditionally 60, while for men it was 65. However, changes were made to equalize the state pension age for men and women, gradually increasing the women's pension age to 65, and subsequently to 66. This meant that many women who had been expecting to retire at 60 found themselves having to wait longer before they could claim their state pension.

The WASPI campaign argues that these changes were implemented unfairly and without adequate notice, leaving many women without sufficient time to prepare for the delay in receiving their pensions. They seek redress for these women, including transitional arrangements or compensation.
