Adli Roushdi

The pinnacle of Adli Roushdi’s gymnastics career came at the 1948 London Olympics. There, representing Egypt, he placed 13th with the team and had a best individual finish of 50th in the rings. At the time, however, he was living in the United States, where he had first moved in 1937 and returned after World War II to attend the University of California, Berkeley. There, he not only participated in gymnastics, but also swam and dabbled in basketball. He remained in the United States after graduation and eventually became a citizen. By career, he ran swimming schools, but he also worked as a realtor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In retirement, he moved to Columbia, South Carolina.
