Biography

Rower Rüdiger Kunze won a silver medal at the 1976 Montréal Olympics with the coxed fours. This crew had already won a gold and a silver medal at the 1974 and the 1975 World Championships, respectively. In 1972 and 1975, he also won East German national titles in this class. By profession, Kune became a graduated sports teacher and rowing coach. After re-unification, he became a teacher of social studies at a trade school in Dresden.
