Petr Pavlásek was a Czechoslovak weightlifter who competed at two Olympic Games. Pavlásek joined the national team in 1968 but he missed out on European Championships and the 1968 Mexico City Olympics due to injury. Four years later he would compete at his first Olympics at the 1972 München Games where he finished in sixth place in the super-heavyweight category. At the 1976 Montréal Olympics Pavlásek initially finished in third place but he was later disqualified after traces of anabolic steroids were found in his system. Pavlásek denied the claims but would retire from the sport shortly afterwards.
