Biography

During the 1920s George Hyde represented the Melbourne Harriers where he specialised in middle-distance running. Hyde was a two-time national champion in the three mile race, winning the title in 1926 and 1930. He was selected to run in the 1,500 and 5,000 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the heats in either race.

Personal Bests: 1500 – unknown; Mile – 4:22.4 (1926); 3 miles – 14:42.4 (1926); 5000 – unknown.
