Short writing samples from other projects are also helpful.

Peachpit Press Proposal

Please answer the following questions as completely as possible in your proposal.

• Proposed title
• Subtitle
• Author(s)
• Author mailing address and phone
• Author e-mail address?
• Author's professional background (you may include a résumé or curriculum vitae)
• Do you have a website? If so, please provide URL.
• Describe your social media involvement and reach, if any.
• Previous books written (if any)?
• Describe your book or video (rationale, approach, intended audience, and wireframes or comps when applicable)
• Key features (briefly list three main selling points)
• Does the title need to include bonus content to be posted online, separate from the title itself? If so, please describe contents and why you feel they are essential to the project.
• Approximate length of book or video
• Include complete and detailed table of contents (required)
• Include a sample chapter or section (recommended)
• Has this project been published in any form before?
• Address competing books or videos. How does your project differ from existing books or videos in level, style, coverage, and depth? What makes it unique or furthers the conversation? Why will someone want to buy your book or video? How is it better? (Please don’t tell us there isn’t any competition. We get that a lot. If there is no direct competition to your proposed book/video/etc., then address it in terms of the general market for that topic.)
