Hyprland 0.55 is out today as a big feature update for this Wayland-based compositor.

Hyprland 0.55 completes the transition to the compositor's configuration all being managed by Lua. Compatibility with older Hyprland configurations is being maintained for a few releases until users transition to the new Lua-based configurations.

As part of the Lua-based configuration, there is now a Layout API that allows users to define their own window layouts directly on the configuration. Layouts can be managed globally, per-workspace, or even per-monitor.

This Hyprland update also adds support for loading ICC display profiles per-output in the configuration, various scrolling improvements, FP16 precision for rendering, improved color management pipelines, and various other new features and improvements.
