Proton 11.0 Beta Released With More Games Playable On Steam Play

Valve and CodeWeavers have just released Proton 11.0 Beta as their first beta milestone for this software that powers Steam Play now rebased against upstream Wine 11.0.

Proton 11.0 Beta 1 makes more games playable that previously only worked on Proton Experimental: Universe Generator: The Golden Sword, DCS World Steam Edition, Resident Evil (1996), Resident Evil 2 (1998), Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, From Dust, Blaite, Don't Die Dateless, Dummy!, METAL GEAR SURVIVE, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Metal Fatigue, and SHOGUN: Total War.

Games now playable for the first time under Proton / Steam Play include: Unknown Faces, Gothic 1 Classic, X-Plane 12, Breath of Fire IV, and Deadly Premonition.

Proton 11.0 Beta 1 also brings many game-specific fixes, addresses many EA game problems, adds support for SteamWorks SDK 1.64, and a variety of other fixes.

In addition to the Wine 11.0 upgrade, Proton 11.0 Beta 1 adds FEX 2604 for the ARM64EC builds, VKD3D 1.19-git, DXVK 2.7.1-git, DXVK-NVAPI 0.9.1, Wine Mono 11.0, and newer VKD3D-Proton.
