Wine 11.9 is out today as the newest bi-weekly development release and nearing the half-way point of the development cycle toward Wine 12.0.

Wine 11.9 brings a bundled SQLite library derived from the upstream SQLite code for winsqlite3, initial support for system threads, thread suspension within the emulated code on ARM64, and more VBScript compatibility improvements.

Wine beginning to make use of system threads will also allow other Wine components like the audio driver internals to begin making use of system threads too.

👁 sudo apt install wine

Also found in Wine 11.9 is Wayland pointer warping support within the Wine Wayland driver via the wp_pointer_warp_v1 protocol. That feature is discussed at length within Wine Wayland Driver Merges Pointer Warp Support.

There are 24 bugs fixed in Wine 11.9 including for Lotus Notes, WinSCP, VBScript, Wargaming Game Center, Command and Conquer 3, and other apps and games. Downloads and all the details at WineHQ.org.
