Wine-Staging 10.3 Adds Patch For A 15 Year Old Bug

Building off yesterday's release of Wine 10.3 is now Wine-Staging 10.3 for this more experimental version of Wine that is presently shipping 347 experimental/testing patches atop the upstream state.

Wine-Staging 10.3 falls in with fewer than 350 patches atop upstream thanks to a number of patches around the OLEAUT32 and SETUPAPI code having been upstreamed over the past two weeks. The patch to set server real-time priority was also dropped form Wine Staging.

New though to wine-Staging 10.3 is updating the latest VKD3D Git code and D3DX9 36-DDS code. There is also a new patch in Wine-Staging 10.3 and that is to improve the whitespace value handling within MSXML.

That new patch aims to address this bug report from March of 2010. That bug report that just marked its 15th anniversary of being open is around the game demo Rise of Legends crashing within the Wine MSXML3 code. That bug has seen activity on and off over the years while surprisingly this new patch in Wine-Staging 10.3 will hopefully take care of the problem.

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends is a game out of Microsoft Game Studios from 2006.
