Not that you'd want to run NAMD or some really demanding scientific codes on a budget laptop, but surprisingly in that use-case Windows 10 performed better than Ubuntu 21.04.
Zstd compression performance was mixed between operating systems.
While Linux dominated in yesterday's Threadripper 3990X Windows vs. Ubuntu benchmarks when involving OpenMP workloads, on this six-core laptop the two operating systems performed much closer.
Other workloads like dav1d were also much closer.
