First up with the Parboil OpenMP benchmarks we see the Intel Core i7 4960X EE as the fastest system locally running between the speed of a c3.2xlarge and c3.4xlarge instance type on Amazon's EC2. The aging AMD Opteron 2384 rig wasn't even hitting the speeds of the c3.xlarge instance type.

The AMD FX-8150 and FX-8350 eight-core processor systems were running behind the Core i7 4960X Ivy Bridge Extreme Edition which for many of the Parboil tests were just behind the c3.2xlarge instance type. The c3.8xlarge instance type with 32 virtual CPUs amounting to 108 Elastic Compute Units was blazing fast.
