Overall these new Ivy Bridge backed Amazon EC2 C3 instance types are incredibly powerful and range in price and speed from being slower than a several year old AMD Opteron 2384 quad-core at $0.15 USD per hour to being much faster than a $1000 Core i7 4960X Extreme Edition processor but at a rate of $2.40 USD per hour.
