Even Zstd compression was of significant benefit on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D if dealing with a lot of file compression or possibly carrying over to transparent file-system compression for file-systems with Zstd support.
The large L3 cache was helping out a lot for the dav1d AV1 CPU-based video decoding.
AOM-AV1 CPU-based AV1 encoding was also much faster with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. But again with video encoders/decoders is where they tend to scale very well with core/thread counts so not as interesting until finding a flagship Ryzen SKU also with 3D V-Cache to make it really the superior option.
Intel's SVT-AV1 video encoder also benefited from the 3D V-Cache model.
