AMD Athlon 3000G Linux Performance Benchmarks - The New $50 Processor

When looking at the geometric mean of all the graphics tests carried out, the Athlon 3000G was 8% faster than the Athlon 200GE and about 25% faster than the Core i3 8100. Unfortunately I don't have any newer Core i3 Intel CPUs but the graphics performance still should be comparable for those still-Gen9-graphics parts. But for those wanting to do any lightweight gaming or more serious graphics on the hardware, Ryzen 3 APUs deliver much better performance even the generation-old 2200G.

Those wanting to see how their own Linux system(s) compare to these graphics results in the same tests side-by-side, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1912245-HU-CPUGRAPHI63.

For the system/CPU benchmarks, here is the geometric mean of all those tests ran. The Athlon 3000G was about 8% faster than the Athlon 200GE and 10% over the Core i3 7100. Overall the CPU performance isn't bad for the AMD Athlon 3000G at around $50 USD and having Vega 3 graphics and a combined 35 Watt TDP.

For those wanting to compare your own system(s) Linux CPU/system performance to these results across dozens of benchmarks, install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1912244-HU-LOWENDEOY05.
