AMD EPYC 7773X "Milan-X" Benchmarks Show Very Strong HPC Performance Upgrade

For large HPC workloads able to take advantage of the large cache provided by AMD 3D V-Cache, Milan-X is a game-changer. AMD Milan-X is one of the most significant mid-cycle upgrades I've seen over the past 18 years running Phoronix. While AMD 3D V-Cache won't help every workload out there, as shown by these benchmarks there are many high performance computing workloads out there that offer considerable benefit to this new technology. Making it even more compelling is the modest (10~12%) cost premium over the comparable non-X Milan SKUs and that no new platform investments are required. The new Milan-X SKUs will continue working nicely with existing AMD EPYC 7003 series platforms with a simple BIOS update.
