Pretty freaking wild results.

👁 nginx benchmark with settings of Connections: 500. EPYC 9755 was the fastest.

👁 Memcached benchmark with settings of Set To Get Ratio: 1:10. EPYC 9755 was the fastest.

👁 PostgreSQL benchmark with settings of Scaling Factor: 100, Clients: 800, Mode: Read Only. EPYC 9755 was the fastest.

👁 PostgreSQL benchmark with settings of Scaling Factor: 100, Clients: 800, Mode: Read Only, Average Latency. EPYC 9755 was the fastest.

The same NVMe SSD storage was used in both servers for consistency but if moving to PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs for EPYC Turin would be even better results in these database workloads.

👁 ClickHouse benchmark with settings of 100M Rows Hits Dataset, First Run / Cold Cache. EPYC 9755 was the fastest.

Very solid gains in performance and power efficiency for common Linux server workloads on this AMD EPYC processor comparison of Zen 1 to Zen 5 flagship SKUs.

👁 RocksDB benchmark with settings of Test: Random Read. EPYC 9965 was the fastest.

👁 RocksDB benchmark with settings of Test: Read While Writing. EPYC 9965 was the fastest.

Nice to look at how far the Linux server performance and power efficiency has evolved on the AMD side since 2017.
