Early Linux 6.19 Benchmarks On AMD EPYC 9965 2P Excelling For AI & HPC Performance
With the Linux 6.19 scheduler regressions noted and bisected a few days ago on Phoronix, there were code compilation performance regressions spotted. Unfortunately, this is still present with Linux 6.19-rc1 and also was reproduced on this AMD EPYC 9965 2P flagship server. Build times were coming in slower when running on Linux 6.19 compared to Linux 6.18. At least for some workloads the difference was small and will hopefully be ironed out ahead of the Linux 6.19 stable release in February.
When turning to more of the AI and HPC workloads on this dual AMD EPYC 9965 server, the results were looking positive for this next version of the Linux kernel.
In fact, some nice wins on Linux 6.19 Git for this AMD EPYC 9965 2P server compared to Linux 6.18.
