The AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D does come out slightly faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D within multi-threaded tasks like code compilation. But if you are predominantly doing code compilation or other multi-threaded workloads, the AMD Ryzen 9 9900 series with the higher core counts offer superior performance.
Across code compilation and video encoding workloads, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D was right where one would expect in being slightly faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D thanks to the key difference of the +400MHz boost clock.
