For 7-Zip compression performance the Ryzen 9 9950X has shown healthy gains over the 7950X and 7950X3D. The Ryzen 9 9950X was around 9% faster than the Core i9 14900K.
For the Stargate digital audio workstation software, the Ryzen 9 9900X and 9950X were delivering healthy gains over the Ryzen 9 7900 series and extending their leads past the Intel competition. For this DAW software the Ryzen 9900X/9950X power efficiency was generationally an improvement but the X3D and non-X 7000 series parts were having the most performance-per-Watt in this given workload.
With the Blender 3D modeling software were some nice speed-ups with these Zen 5 desktop processors, all while consuming less power than the Zen 4 and Raptor Lake parts.
