While the Core i9 14900K and Ryzen 9 7950X were tied for building a default Linux kernel configuration, when it comes to the more demanding "allmodconfig" to compile every available kernel module, the AMD Zen 4 CPUs had the advantage. Both the Ryzen 9 7950X and Ryzen 9 7950X3D were delivering faster build times than the Core i9 14900K.

The Core i9 14900K can do well compiling smaller codebases with less source files while all-around the AMD Ryzen 9 7950 series remain great desktop processors for developers doing frequent code compilation.
