With the NAMD workload there was smaller but still measurable benefit to SMT on this laptop.
Across a few HPC programs tested as well, SMT was still panning out. SMT typically performs well here unless the additional threads/cores are starved for memory bandwidth.
For the OpenMP-threaded GraphicsMagick program most operations yielded nice wins for performance while only in a few cases did SMT hurt performance.
