Across nearly 200 benchmarks carried out in total, the performance profile on a geo mean basis was about 3.5% faster than in the default configuration. Switching to the low-power profile had a more pronounced impact with its performance at 76% the out-of-the-box performance and just faintly ahead of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

When looking at the SoC power consumption over the entire duration of benchmarks, the performance profile led to a 49.56 Watt average compared to 48.16 Watt out-of-the-box for this HP ZBook Ultra G1a. The peak power consumption was more pronounced with a 82.7 Watts peak in the performance mode compared to 72 Watts at the default. So just under a 3% increase in power use on average but with 3.5% geo mean performance improvement. In the low-power mode the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 had a 32 Watt average and a peak of 66.9 Watts. The low-power mode was quite useful for enhancing the power efficiency with on average consuming 67% the power of the default/out-of-the-box configuration but with 76% the performance.

For those wondering about the gaming performance with the HP Platform Profile impact, some comparison numbers were also ran there separately.
